MY CHALLENGES – IMPRESSIVE

Job Purpose:

To be the lead of technical excellence for the site / account / BU and drive the standardisation of best practices within Data centres. Ensure technical compliance with local Law and CBRE rules and procedures are both implemented correctly. Lead a technical and technology network within region including CERM, reliability and technical solutions and innovations. Mentor and grow the engineering standard of Data centre technical staff inherent to the BU, ensuring knowledge share across the BU. Promote safe methods of working ensuring CBRE rules and procedures are implemented correctly


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide the onsite Data Centre operations teams with SME engineering support as required
  • Provide Business Development team technical support to provide solutions to meet varying customer requirements
  • Use and promote DCS Shield, providing usage reports to snr managers
  • Liaise with wider business solutions to promote innovations in both new technology and service solutions
  • Create and lead BU technical forum arranging quarterly meetings involving relevant guest speakers reporting risks and opportunities from forum to senior management.
  • Mentor contract based technical managers and contract managers in ensuring engineering best practice is exercised across the division
  • Lead apprenticeship and technical training programs that ensure development past class room learning
  • Produce standardised documentation and processes that can be utilised and tailored by the site teams (i.e. Forward Maintenance Register, Risk Registers)
  • Support business development manager with new opportunities in areas such as: 
    • Site visits as technical expert
    • Producing reports on initial visits as requested
    • Review new contracts to highlight any latent technical risks
    • Advise on contract improvements as may be necessary
    • Attend tender presentations, championing technical excellence
  • Act as authorising engineer for the division with responsibilities consisting of: 
    • Managing of Authorised Person register
    • Communicating known safety alerts/notices across the division
    • Produce standard authorising process for division
    • Liaise with wider technical group to assist in authorising of team members
    • Arrange authorised persons site audits across the relevant sites
    • Advice on high risks works and provision of standard documentation
  • Provide investigation and root cause analysis across the division as required, producing reports and learning from experience documents to be shared internally/externally
  • Provide standard competence tests for current staff and for utilisation during interview stages
  • Liaise and work in partnership with the QHSE team
  • Promote customer experience and wellbeing through good operation of building service systems
  • Provide technical support the division project team in areas such as: -
    • Scope and Specification reviews
    • Mid and End of project snagging
    • Support in planning of high risk works
    • Assistance and support in creation of initial scoping documentation

 

MY QUALIFICATIONS – WANTED

  • Preferably an apprenticed engineer (m/f/d) who has gained technical qualifications and attained professional registration as Eur ing, C Eng or I Eng etc
  • Several years of experience in a senior technical role: Authorised Eng, HV AP Electrical 11 KV /LV, Confined Spaces, Boiler Pressure Systems with a knowledge of Building Management Systems; Fire Alarm Systems and General Building Services
  • Minimum 5 year Data Centre experience in a leadership role
  • Experience and understanding of risk management process and procedures
  • Experience and understanding of reliability centred maintenance
  • Exhibit always, an awareness of safety procedures and practices & GWS Technical Safety Rules
  • Show diligence in safe working methods both for CBRE BU / Div staff and occupants of the premises working in
  • Impart & share knowledge and safety training to all members of staff as required
  • Good command of both German and English (written and verbal)
